Partial Discharge Monitoring

Insulation degradation in transformer bushings and windings is influenced by various electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stress factors accumulated over years of operation.

Partial Discharge (PD) activity serves as a reliable indicator of insulation condition, as it often signals early-stage insulation defects that could eventually lead to system failure.

Petrotec, in partnership with Omicron, provides advanced and user-friendly on-line temporary PD monitoring solutions for power transformers. These systems allow trending and assessment of PD activity over time, enabling early detection of insulation issues and supporting condition-based maintenance strategies for enhanced reliability and asset longevity.

Petrotec is the authorized partner for Omicron products in Qatar
